Your job site will be chaos if your workers don’t start the day as ONE team.
The Daily Morning Worker Huddle is the most important meeting we have in Lean construction.
One plan.
One direction.
And that doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens in the Morning Worker Huddle.
Before anyone steps onto the site, something powerful needs to occur:
👉 People get oriented
👉 People get aligned
Because…
–They will prioritize their own work
–They will unintentionally conflict with others
And just like that… you’ve got chaos. And people feel disrespected.
But when you do the morning huddle right?
-You create a social group.
-You set expectations.
-You reinforce standards.
-You communicate the plan for the day.
Now everyone:
- ✔ Knows where they’re going
- ✔ Knows how they fit
- ✔ Knows what success looks like
…and workers and materials don’t just enter the site—
They flow into it.
Ready.
Focused.
Respectful.
Productive.
This is how you build:
🔹 One team
🔹 One direction
It’s the moment your project either comes together…
or falls apart.
The most important things on a project for operational excellence is the intentional queueing of workers, equipment, and materials before entering the project site.
Training builds people.
Structure builds systems.
I have never seen a Lean Operationally Excellent project without a Morning Worker Huddle.
What would happen to construction if every project began with respect for people like this and built people every day before they built things?
