Your crane is your most expensive bottleneck. Do you actually know where it’s busy — and where it’s free?
Most jobsites run the tower crane on tribal knowledge.
The operator knows.
The super kind of knows.
Everybody else guesses.
And then trades stack up at the hook like cars at a four-way stop with no signals.
This is a day-to-day crane demand analysis we built — 13 workdays out, 30-minute increments, 6 AM to 6 PM.
Here’s what makes it work:
🔹 Every lift tied to the production rhythm — strip & jump, weld knife plates, place decks, reinforce the core. The crane plan follows the Takt plan, not the other way around.
🔹 Free-capacity windows highlighted in green — those are your opportunistic pick windows. Material staging, dunnage, trash-out, deliveries. Planned picks, not panic picks.
The crane doesn’t punish you for being busy.
It punishes you for being unprepared.
When demand is visible two weeks out, trade partners can pre-stage, roadblocks get removed before they cost you a cycle, and the hook stays in flow.
If your crane schedule lives in someone’s head, it’s not a schedule.
It’s a hope.
