Lean thinking isn’t just for the factory floor — it belongs on the jobsite too. 🏗️
We recently implemented a Waste Sorting Station on our construction site, and the difference has been night and day.
Here’s how it works:
🪵 WOOD – Lumber & pallet recycling
🔩 METAL – Ferrous & non-ferrous scrap sorting
🧱 DRYWALL – Gypsum board waste separation
🗑️ TRASH – General site debris collection
🪨 CONCRETE – Aggregate & debris for crushing
Simple color-coded bins. Clear labels. A defined flow from sorting → transport → collection.
The result? Less waste going to landfill, lower disposal costs, and a cleaner, safer site.
Visual management is one of the most underrated tools in construction. When your crew can see the system clearly, they use it consistently.
Are you using lean visual management on your projects? I’d love to hear what’s working. 👇
